In the face of recent aggressive and deceptive marketing practices of some compounding pharmacies targeting TRICARE, the Defense Health Agency is taking aggressive action to help TRICARE beneficiaries.
Some compound pharmacies are using aggressive outreach programs to call TRICARE beneficiaries, collect their personal information, and then use that information to bill TRICARE thousands of dollars for a single compound prescription. Be aware that TRICARE will almost never call you and ask you for personal information. Be very careful if someone calls asking for patient information, social security number or TRICARE number. Also, be aware that several bogus websites have been created to look like TRICARE websites. If you believe you are the victim of a fraudulent act, please visit the Health.mil Program Integrity Office webpage.
