On May 9th, the Veterans Employment seminar brought together industry experts in the employment fields and entrepreneurship. The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library West Branch hosted the seminar. Speakers offered ideas and insights and addressed the veterans’ questions and concerns.
Over 30 veterans in search of employment attended the first United States Vets Inc. Job Fair on May 20th ay the Main Branch of the Toledo Public Library. Thirteen Toledo employers in various fields reached out to the veteran community and presented hiring opportunities. Each company present was initially approached by us regarding their veteran hiring programs and policies.
Special thanks to WNWO 24’s general manager, John Nizamus, for the fine coverage and support of both events.
David Topoleski of the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library did an outstanding job in helping us orchestrate the job fair and made our veterans and organization incredibly welcome. The library sites have an abundance of resources available to veterans in our area.
We would like to thank our sponsors for these marvelous veteran events:
Our Employment Seminar speakers, PR specialist Leslie Mestrow, Kelly Services recruiting expert Vickie Avery, SCORE entrepreneur guru Basil Apostolou, and Toledo-Lucas Public Library representative Ginny Wolter offered resourceful and helpful presentations.
A huge thank you to the employers who participated in the job fair:
