United States Vets is presenting a two-fold event specially designed for our Toledo veterans.
The events kick off with an Employment Seminar on May 9th at the West Toledo-Lucas County Library Branch, 1320 Sylvania Avenue in Toledo from 11am to 2pm. The seminar will compose of several speakers who are experts in their fields to discuss the topics of:
- Resume writing, cover letters and profiles that exemplify you as a veteran and the skills you have presented by public relations consultant Leslie Mestrow.
- The recruiting process – how it works and what you should know by Kelly Services.
- Entrepreneurship – how the vet can put their know-how to work for themselves by SCORE.
- Toledo-Lucas Library system – what they’ve got and how you can make it work for you.
To attend the employment seminar, you must be a veteran. Be prepared to have your military/veteran identification with you the day of the seminar. If you do not have a military/veteran ID, please refer to our website for information on updating or replacing your ID.
Registration is highly recommended. Each veteran who attends this seminar will receive a certificate to present at the veteran employment booths at the first United States Vets Job Fair on May 20th at the Toledo-Lucas Main Library. The employers at the job fair have been personally invited based on their recruitment of veterans within their companies. Your certificate will show them you are spot-on ready for the recruitment process and work-ready. Employers will be speaking about their companies and what their needs are. Parking is free at the library.
There is no charge for the veteran attending either event, and it is an awesome opportunity for you.
Are you ready? Game on! Register for the Employment Seminar TODAY!
