Peace is not a season… it is a way of life. When the spirit of peace becomes a part of our lives, every day will be Christmas and every night will hold the promise of dawn.—Anonymous
Oh, the holidays, filled with cookies, egg nog and grandma’s buffet. Although it is fun to have the excuse to indulge during the holiday season, take a step back and see how you are focusing your “indulgent” energy.
Stress is definitely not on the gift lists but we get it regardless this time of year. Don’t let bad indulging take over your life during a sometimes stressful (and lonely) holiday. Wanna indulge? Take that negative bundled-up energy and put it to do good work. It’s a simple as visiting the hospital to say hello to veteran whom you may never have met, but share something special in common. YOU could be the gift they’ve been waiting for, perhaps all year.
Choose a place of worship (should you desire)…and it doesn’t even have to be one you know. Churches are filled with spirit of Christmas and empowering us with faith and hope…and this is a gift you keep on sharing all year round.
So if you are going to indulge…..indulge on that….the beauty and wonder of the season. Share it with a fellow veteran.
