Nagy inducted into Hall of Fame Class of 2020

“In 1992, a special panel of representatives from the state’s veterans organizations was brought together to discuss the idea of establishing the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame. The panel endorsed the idea of increasing awareness of the lifetime contributions of veterans after completion of honorable military service” stated the Ohio Department of Veteran Service. Since that time 895 Ohio veterans have been inducted. They represent all eras, branches of service, and walks of life. The 20 inductees of the Class of 2020 was chosen from among 136 nominations and represents 16 Ohio counties and four military branches.

On September 29, 2020, Carolyn Nagy (Army) was inducted into the Hall of Fame Class of 2020. The personalized induction ceremony was held at the Hilton Garden Inn Perrysburg and was presided over by Director Ashenhurst (Ohio Department of Veteran Services). A video with remarks from Governor DeWine was viewed. Kari Pfeifer (Hall of Fame Executive Committee) read Ms. Nagy’s official Hall of Fame bio. this was followed by the certificate presentation, signed by Governor DeWine and Director Ashenhurst. Diana French (Navy/Army) was selected to present Ms. Nagy with the medal. After which Ms. Nagy thanked all involved in her receiving this great honor. A special thank you went to Diana French for submitting the nomination.

Following Director Ashenhurst’s closing remarks there was time for photos and an interview before lunch was served to a few family members and friends. A video will be released on social media on November 5, 2020.
