Navigating through the System

February’s Compatriot Meeting entitled, Navigating-The Justice System, Programs for Veterans, attracted several veterans who had questions and concerns about particular procedures and resources. Speaker Thomas Luettke, Reentry Coordinator and member of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, spoke to veterans about programs that assist those in the criminal justice system with reentry. Finding a Mentor Who is Right for You

Most service members and veterans understand the importance of having a mentor in their corner. Mentors can provide honest feedback and give mentees the tools they need to work toward their goals, whether they involve being promoted to a higher rank, transitioning to a civilian career or even earning an MBA degree.

Millennials are particularly interested in building these relationships, with two-thirds of Millennials recently surveyed by the Corporate Executive Board reporting that they want a mentor. [Read more…]

Veteran Outreach & Compatriot Presentations

We are very excited to announce the launch of the US Vets Inc Compatriot Program. Four Wednesdays during the month of September, we will be holding Veteran Outreach & Compatriot Presentations. These presentations will discuss the Compatriot Program which was designed to create a network for veterans to meet other veterans in comradery. The presentations are not only an opportunity to learn about the program but will also include a variety of speakers, and topics relevant to education, employment, and reintegration. We hope to include special veteran speakers who will share their stories with the attendees. [Read more…]
