As the public relations coordinator for United States Vets Inc. for the past four years, it has been my privilege to meet and interview outstanding veterans in the Toledo area. Regrettably, this is my final veteran interview for the organization’s website and it is an honor that it is with Carolyn Nagy, advocate and representative for the Women Veterans Initiative.

of this month’s veteran interview and she shares some very interesting encounters and journeys in the military and in the civilian world.

Many women veterans have said that they are not recognized as veterans because they don’t “look” like veterans. But they deal with many of the same issues – employment, PTSD, education, housing and support. As the veteran population continues to grow it is also diversifying. However, some find themselves in a culture that was originally designed for men.
