Women Veterans Initiative First Seminar Success

The Women Veteran Initiative had its first official seminar on August 6th at the 180th Fighter Wing in Swanton. The topic of PTSD and sexual assault was addressed by Linda Vanderpol of Caring Counts – Family Therapy Services and Marielana Thompson of the Northwest Ohio YWCA HOPE Center Rape Crisis Services. PTSD & Sexual Assault – Recognizing and Addressing the Issue

Women Veterans Initiative Recognized

The Women Veterans Initiative was recognized at the SoNow event on May 4 at Chandlers Café in Sylvania. The professionalwomen veterans image
women’s network invited the organization to speak about the new initiative to spurn awareness of the new endeavor. It was brought to the attention of Toledo business women the plight of women vets and their much needed recognition and awareness of their issues.
